Meet Jescka, an aspiring model!

Jescka was looking for some natural shots that she can give away to talent scouts, and I was so excited to do them for her.  She’s truly beautiful, and she’s a complete natural in front of the camera.  Even when she’s goofing around, she’s beautiful.

Thanks, Jes! I know I’ll see you in a magazine, someday!

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of heading up to Denver for my insurance agent’s corporate shoot.  I can’t say enough good things about Austin and his team.  Even though he is in Denver, they are all always easily available for my husband and I, whenever we have questions.  As an “artist type”, there are a lot of things that my brain just doesn’t handle well…insurance is definitely one of those things!  Austin, Matt, and Megan have always made it easy, even for me, to understand.  Does it seem like I really like my insurance agent?  Because I do.  I suppose it helps that  he’s not only my agent, but also my big brother!

While they are always the most professional team, it was also fun to see that they are able to kick back and have a good time, too!

The first weekend of May I was able to shoot Brittany’s bridal portraits.  We headed to her wedding venue, The Pinery.  It’s a good thing we did, because believe it or not, it was snowing big, wet, heavy flakes that Sunday afternoon.  I do love living in Colorado, but there are times when I definitely feel like I could do with a little less May snow!  But, the weather didn’t hold us back, and Brittany was BEAUTIFUL!  I can’t wait for her wedding in June.  She and Jarrad will be releasing live Monarch butterflies, and will have the orange and black colors to match!

Brittany’s was my first bridal portrait ever, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results.  To make it extra fun, I bought a couple of fun headpieces from Etsy for her to wear in front of the camera.  She totally rocked them, and they were just the extra touch I was hoping they’d be.

I was so excited to see how this beautiful orange feather headpiece would look against Brittany’s dark hair.  It’s beautiful, and the perfect pop of orange.

This picture makes me excited for the real butterflies that we’ll see on their wedding day!

In the days following the sneak peak I posted of Kristin and Kevin’s engagement session, I got so busy with shooting that I am only just now getting to posting their full entry!  I’m not complaining though, because I love my job.

I have known Kristin for a little over 3 years now, and I treasure her friendship.  I was (and still am) so excited for her when she met Kevin towards the end of last year, and I was absolutely thrilled when I found out that they were engaged.  I simply cannot wait to shoot their July wedding, and I’m completely flattered that Kristin asked me to do their wedding!  I had such a blast doing their engagement session.  We were a little weary of the weather because it had been raining all day, but I told Kristin that we would accomplish our goal, and have a beautiful sky for a background to boot.  She was still nervous, but I told her that she was not allowed to stress about it!  I’m not sure how it happened, but it was all just as I said it would be.  I think it was simply because Kris and Kev were with me that it happened.  Things just seem to work out for them…one of many signs that they’re soul mates!

At some point, I realized that these two were on sort of a repetitive track of, “do something silly, laugh, kiss, repeat”.  I shared my observation with them, and I must have struck a nerve because  a few days later, I noticed that something very similar to the above statement was what Kevin had listed as his facebook status!  I think he’s a happy man.

Kristin’s ring is undeniably gorgeous.

Just as we started shooting, Kevin spotted an interesting carving in one of the rocks.  While I don’t really condone people carving things into rocks at beautiful places like Garden of the Gods, this particular carving was pretty cool, considering I was with two people whose names begin with K, and who are very much in love.

Kevin and Kristin are so wonderful together.  I’m always impressed with couples who can just be themselves no matter what, and K & K are just that type of couple.  They make each other laugh (all the time) and the happiness that they feel when they are around one another is absolutely catching.  Whenever I’m with them, I too seem to have a smile on my face!  I know that they will have a long, happy life together.

Thanks so much you two, and I can’t wait for your wedding!

I had such a blast this weekend shooting Kristin and Kevin’s engagement pictures.  I will save the details for the full post, but as I was proofing all the images, I came across this one and decided it was just too pretty not to share right away.

Stay tuned…I’m hoping to have the rest finished up soon!

Last week Shawnte and I had her last mini-session of her BabyBump package! This is exciting because it means that the next time I photograph her, she will be only a short time away from holding her sweet baby girl in her arms. I know I’ve already mentioned this, but I just know that Shawnte will be an amazing mother. She is patient, kind, and so strong in her faith. Their family will be so blessed to have one-another!

While her sweet bump is definitely growing (that’s a good thing!), Shawnte is looking as beautiful as ever. Stay tuned in June for her main maternity session with her husband Sean! I can’t wait!
