Another beautiful senior girl to show you from Falcon High School!  Heather chose Monument Valley Park for her shoot, and I’m so glad she did.  The morning we went out, it was dreary, foggy, and misting over most of the front range, with the exception of over Monument Valley Park!  The mostly overcast sky made for beautiful, even light, and the occasional sun ray poking through the clouds warmed us up from time to time.

Heather is a fun girl, and it just so happens that she’s BFFs with Harley.  Just like Harley, Heather is bubbly, fun and very sweet.  Heather’s mom came along and only barely had to look at Heather before she was cracking up.  It’s so much fun to see a mom and daughter be so close during the teenage years…I hope I’ll be so lucky!

Thanks so much Heather!  I had a great time with you.  :)

I had such a blast in Manitou Springs with Harley!  She’s a Falcon High School senior who loves to be on stage, smiles all the time, and is quick with a kindhearted laugh.  She’s probably one of the busiest kids I’ve ever encountered…I can’t even remember the laundry list of activities that she ran down when I asked her what she does…and she still manages to give some volunteer time to a Puppy Mill Rescue near her house.  Harley is planning on heading to UNC Greeley next year to study theater.  I can totally picture her being on Broadway someday!

Thanks so much, Harley…you’re so much fun!

2 weekends ago, I had a very exciting weekend…4 shoots in 2 days!  It was a lot of fun for me.  :)  This is the first of those 4 shoots.  I headed to Garden of the Gods to do Jade’s senior pictures and his family’s session.  The weather was beautiful, and while I have yet to meet a boy who enjoys having his picture taken, Jade was a good sport and easy to shoot.  Jade is a 3 sport athlete (football, basketball and track) at Falcon High School, and hopes to major in Ecology next year.

Thanks Jade!  I had a great time with you and your family.

I just adored Jade’s little nephew, Mason.  He was not at all camera shy, and I was so glad because he’s completely adorable!

A couple of weeks ago, I finally had a chance to see what all the buzz is about over at Crooked Willow Farms.  It’s everything it promises as a wedding venue, and then some.  The staff was helpful and friendly, and I don’t need to tell you that the place itself is simply stunning!

You probably remember Mike and Tina from my 2010 giveaway and their engagement pictures, which were also done at Crooked Willow.  Their wedding was absolutely beautiful, and so much fun.  Thanks so much, Mike and Tina!  Hope you had a great time in Jamaica…and I can’t wait to show you your images!

Mike and Tina opted for a first look so that they could have a little more time after their ceremony and a carriage ride.  While they had seen each other that day while they were setting everything up, this was the first time they’d seen each other all decked out.  Look how cute Mike was…I suppose he was trying to savor the moment.  :)

Crooked Willow is just as breathtaking at night.

Big thanks to Nicole, my amazing assistant, and to Caroline Pippin who came along to help as well!

In my years as a teacher, it was never hard for me to pick the kids who were my favorites.  It was always the seniors.  I know, I wasn’t supposed to have favorites, and it’s not to say that there were never any non-seniors that I didn’t adore, because that’s not true.  But I always loved the seniors.  What an awesome time in your life…and yet, so very potentially difficult at the same time.  It’s awesome to get to capture kids in the moments before they spread their wings and fly away from their home, away from their parents, and finally become the people they were meant to become.  It’s really no wonder that I always have so much fun shooting each of my senior sessions.

Robert was no different.  He is SO smart.  The whole time I was taking his picture he was talking to me about things that are so over my head that I can’t even remember an example.  Don’t get me wrong-I was fascinated.  He is FULL of knowledge.  It wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if he were running the free world some day!  Robert is a senior at Falcon High School, and he’s hoping to attend the Air Force Academy here in Colorado Springs next year.  So it seemed fitting that we head to the beautiful USAFA for his senior pictures.

Thanks so much for driving me around Phil, Julie, and Robert!  I had so much fun.

I love having clients who are creative, and take me to places I’ve never shot before!  SO, when Rebecca wanted to head up the Pikes Peak Highway and do her senior pictures at Catamount Reservoir, I was super excited!  It’s so beautiful up there and we had a lot of fun walking around the reservoir.  Afterwards, we headed to downtown Manitou Springs for  a cone and some fun, colorful shots…because senior pictures should NEVER be boring or drab.  :)

Rebecca will be a senior at Falcon High School this year.  She is attending beauty school, and she loves Audrey Hepburn.

Thanks so much Rebecca!  I had a great time with you and your mom.  :)  Also, a big thanks to Brittany for referring her BFF!

I think she was the happiest bride I’ve ever seen.  All day, right from the moment I first saw her, Kristin had a big smile on her face, and it was obvious that she was on cloud 9.  And why shouldn’t she have been?  After all, she was marrying the man of her dreams.  You probably remember Kevin and Kristin from their engagement pictures earlier this year.  I’m pleased to announce that their wedding was even more fun to photograph than their engagement shoot!  :)  They were married on 7/11 at the Lionsgate Events Center in Lafayette, Colorado.  I was totally prepared to be rained on all day, but as luck would have it, the clouds just gave us a beautiful backdrop for their gorgeous wedding.  I had such a blast with these two and their families!  I’m sad to say that I don’t have time to show you all of my favorites, but here is but a selection…

My wonderful friend Nicole came along for this wedding as well.  She had a LOT of really great shots, but this one of hers is my favorite:

In addition to being an absolute joy to photograph, I think Kristin and Kevin hired models to be a part of their wedding party.  It’s the only explanation for having that many beautiful people!

Rawr.

Such a huge thanks to Kristin and Kevin for letting Nicole and I be such a big part of your special day.  We really enjoyed ourselves, and couldn’t be happier for you two!  Glad you love your pictures.  :)
PS:  So…THIS is what I’ve wanted my website to look like for quite some time.  What do you think???  I am so thrilled with it!  It couldn’t have happened without my amazingly smart and loving husband, Jim.  Thanks honey!  I love you.  :)
